A phoenix rises from the ashes
The phoenix bird is a mythical bird from Greek mythology. To rise like a phoenix from the ashes means to emerge from a catastrophe stronger, smarter and more powerful.
The recent horrific events in Gauteng and especially KZN have left widespread scars and ashes. The following high-level stats reflect the widespread disruption in our Arch family stores:
Note: The extent of the damage to the hardware equipment alone, is in the order of R20m.
The KZN and Gauteng Branches were inundated with calls of distress and the wheels were immediately set in motion to assist with disaster recovery and reinstatement of some form of normality. The teams were working under severe pressure and delivered in abundance, for which we salute them. Apart from onsite assistance, we immediately liaised with key equipment suppliers to secure emergency stock. As we speak, some stores are already up-and-running, with the rest scheduled to open their doors as soon as possible.
We commend our Arch family members who are resolute in their will to rise from the ashes and ensure them of our unyielding commitment to this process.
In conclusion, we must mention Sagren and the KZN team, Schalk and the Gauteng team, as well as all HO personnel jumping in to coordinate and execute the emergency plans.
